This painting stood apart from the other work in my recent exhibit Parallel Play, and from my landscape work generally. It holds a kind of emotional weight, and for that is more akin to my figurative paintings in content. I could see (and feel) this as I was painting it, and wasn’t surprised that the woman who purchased it from the show did so because it moved her.
