It was a hot week in the studio when I did this one—almost 100 degrees every day for a week or more. No AC. I was dreaming of a summer junket…

I exhibited this piece briefly before it had a base, just as cases with wings. I had ideas for a  stem style post for it but tried and failed with a couple of materials. Eventually I found someone to help me realize it. I would like to thank metal sculptor Renee Leverty. My vision came to life under her guiding hand at her Durham studio. Let the junket begin! Thank you Renee!
